Start with the movement caliber when you have it
A watch does not need a famous brand name to be repairable. Common Miyota movements can make parts, replacement and service decisions much easier.
Automatic Miyota work
Rate, reserve, winding, rotor noise and stopped-movement complaints are evaluated by caliber and condition rather than by brand positioning.
Quartz Miyota work
Common quartz movements can often be replaced economically when circuit or train failure makes component-level repair poor value.
Microbrands are welcome
If the watch is from a small or discontinued brand, include the movement caliber, dial and caseback photos. The movement may still be completely serviceable.
