Rate and amplitude should be considered together
If the movement lacks healthy amplitude, adjusting the regulator to chase the correct rate can hide the underlying condition.
Observe the power reserve
If the watch runs slow and also dies early, struggles to start or changes dramatically through the day, include that in the repair request.
Position can matter
Mechanical watches do not necessarily run identically in every orientation. Extreme positional variation can be useful diagnostic information.
A watch can run while overdue for service
The fact that the watch ticks does not prove the lubricants and components are healthy.
Start with the actual watch
Submit the brand, model or reference if known, symptoms, service history and clear photos before shipping. We use that information for a preliminary review. Final diagnosis and pricing require physical inspection.
