Independent Seiko mail-in service

Seiko water damage.

Moisture is one of the few watch problems where waiting can actively make the repair worse. Corrosion continues after the visible fog disappears.

Start with photos — screen the job before shipping
Physical inspection — final scope comes from the watch
Approval first — no surprise billable repair work

Condensation is evidence

Fog under the crystal means moisture crossed the case boundary. The source may be a crown, crystal, gasket, caseback or other sealing issue.

Do not cook the watch

Hair dryers, ovens and other heat tricks can damage components and do not properly address water trapped in the movement.

Damage can spread

Steel components, dial feet, hands and movement surfaces can corrode. The earlier a wet watch is opened and evaluated, the better the chance of limiting secondary damage.

Water resistance after repair

The original rating cannot simply be assumed after a moisture event. Case condition, seals and testing determine what can responsibly be represented.

How the mail-in process works

Submit the watch details and photos first. If the repair appears appropriate, we provide current shipping instructions. Final scope and price follow physical inspection, and billable repair work begins only after authorization under the service terms.
