Low amplitude can point to a service problem
When a movement is not running with healthy amplitude, regulating it to look correct in one position does not necessarily produce a healthy watch.
Observe reserve and rate together
If the watch is slow and also dies early, struggles to start or changes rate dramatically through the day, include that information in the repair request.
A dirty movement can still run
Mechanical watches often continue running well past the point when their lubricant condition is ideal. The question is not merely whether it ticks, but how it runs.
