A $300–$500 watch cannot always absorb the same labor structure as a high-end Swiss watch. The repair strategy should reflect reality.
When replacement can be smart
Common modern workhorse movements may be economically replaceable when major damage, previous abuse or labor needs make full service poor value.
When service is better
Vintage watches, sentimental watches, uncommon movements and enthusiast pieces may justify preserving the original caliber.
Transparency matters
If replacement is recommended, the customer should know that is the proposed repair. We do not quietly swap movements and call it an overhaul.
How the mail-in process works
Submit the watch details and photos first. If the repair appears appropriate, we provide current shipping instructions. Final scope and price follow physical inspection, and billable repair work begins only after authorization under the service terms.
